MYTHONEIRIC

An Oracular Art Pilgrimage to Delphi, Mount Parnassus & the Corycian Cave

A Four-Day Initiation into Oracle, Ritual, Visionary Art & Sacred Landscape

29 August – 2 September 2026
Ariadne’s Garden Retreat Centre, Galaxidi, Greece

Limited to 9 participants

This intimate pilgrimage is an immersive exploration of the 'FERTILE THRESHOLD'

Where dream, mythology, sacred landscape and artistic creation converge.

You will be guided through a carefully held process of cultivating your own symbolic language through direct lived experience channelled into an original painting and cultivating sacred relationship with the great Mystery and the earth Mother.

We travel there not to recreate the ancient rites, but to continue them.

The landscape becomes initiator.
The Sibyls becomes teacher.

The spring becomes oracle.

The Earth remembers.
Our task is to listen.

And Act, restoring our deepest creative primordial instinct.

THE MAGICAL WORKING

This pilgrimage unfolds as one continuous magical operation.

Entering the Living Myth of Delphi

There are moments in history when humanity is called not merely to observe the world...

...but to consciously participate in its becoming.

I believe we are living through one of those moments.

Mythoneiric is one answer to that call.

Gathering upon the ancient lands of Delphi, nine pilgrims will enter a living magical operation

—a contemporary mystery rite bridging ancestral memory with the unborn future.

This is an act of Oneiric Activism.

Working through dream, ritual, oracle, imagination and sacred art, we consciously enter relationship with the living intelligence of Gaia and the ancient sibyls, participating in an ongoing magical dialogue between Earth, consciousness and mythology.

Together we cultivate an oracular field in which

vision is received from a place of deep listening.

What emerges becomes more than personal insight.

It becomes offering.
Prayer.
Medicine.

A living image carried back into the world.

Each painting created during the pilgrimage becomes an act of imaginal ecology

—a living seed offered into the collective field.

Every ritual, every breath, every mark upon the canvas becomes part of a greater magical working dedicated to the flourishing of life.

  • No previous painting experience is required, only the willingness to enter Mystery with sincerity, courage and devotion.

  • Paintbrushes, pencils, paper, easels and palettes are provided

  • Some paints are also provided

  • You will need to bring a small canvas (A4 or A3 size) to fit in your luggage and a small amount of acrylic paints- which I will detail in your welcome email.

Long before Delphi became the sanctuary of Apollo, it was revered as the sacred centre of Gaia.

Held within the embrace of Mount Parnassus, Delphi has long been revered as a landscape of prophecy, poetry, inspiration and transformation.

Here, generations of seekers journeyed to listen more deeply—to the Earth, to the unseen worlds, and to the inner voice that speaks through symbol, dream and vision.

Over four immersive days we weave together contemplative practice, ritual, dream incubation, embodied movement, sacred pilgrimage and visionary art to awaken your own innate capacity for oracular perception.

We journey through sacred sites and mountain pathways, opening a dialogue with the myths, symbols and living energies that have shaped this place for thousands of years.

Through this process, each participant is guided to receive and cultivate their own personal vision, allowing it to unfold through the creation of an original artwork.

The painting or drawing becomes a vessel of encounter—a visual expression of the relationship formed between artist, landscape, imagination and the unseen currents that move through all creation.

The Heart of the Pilgrimage

The Corycian Cave & The Thriae Honeybee Sibyls

High upon the slopes of sacred Mount Parnassus rests the ancient Corycian Cave

—a place of profound mythological significance within the greater Delphic landscape.

Long associated with Gaia, the Thriae Nymphs and the ancient mysteries of Pan, this natural sanctuary has been honoured for centuries as a place of connection between the earthly and the divine.

Within the myths of Delphi, the Corycian Cave was the original home to the Thriae—the prophetic honeybee nymphs whose wisdom was said to reveal the hidden patterns of the world through the language of divination.

The Thriae embody an ancient relationship between bees, prophecy, feminine wisdom and the sacred intelligence of nature.

As founder of The Honeybee Temple Arts Pollinator and an artist deeply engaged with the symbolic lineage of the Melissae, Melissa Artemis Shemanna brings this living mythology into the heart of the pilgrimage.

Together, we journey into this mountain sanctuary to honour the Thriae and participate in an oracular ritual inspired by the principles of Oneiric Activism.

Oneiric Activism

Dreaming Through Creation

Oneiric Activism is an invitation to engage consciously with the dreamtime field as a creative and transformative force.

Through dream practice, ritual, embodied awareness and artistic expression, we enter a deeper relationship with the symbolic languages that move through our lives.

The dream becomes a source of inspiration, a meeting place between inner vision and outer world.

Within the Corycian Cave ritual, participants are invited into a contemplative encounter with landscape, mythology, sound and imagination—opening space for personal revelation, creative insight and renewed relationship with the living Earth.

These experiences become the seeds of the artistic journey that follows.

Through painting, each participant gives form to the vision that has emerged.

The artwork becomes a living imprint of the pilgrimage.

The MythOneiric Artistic Journey

From Vision Into Form

At the centre of MythOneiric is the sacred act of bringing vision into form.

Throughout the retreat, Melissa guides participants through a process of visionary art-making that honours the relationship between intuition, symbolism, colour and creative expression.

Drawing from her lifelong practice as a visionary artist, curator, yogini and magical practitioner, Melissa creates a supportive space where each participant can explore their own unique visual language.

Through painting, drawing, reflection and individual guidance, the images that arise from the pilgrimage begin to reveal themselves.

Each artwork becomes a personal talisman—a continuing relationship with the experience, carrying the memory and meaning of the journey beyond Delphi.

THE FOUR DAY JOURNEY

DAY ONE • Opening the Threshold

Our pilgrimage begins in the tranquil sanctuary of Ariadne's Garden, nestled among ancient landscapes and overlooking the Gulf of Corinth.

After arriving and settling into your accommodation, we gather with a welcoming circle to open our shared journey together.

Through guided introductions, contemplative practice and gentle embodiment exercises, we begin slowing the pace of everyday life, creating the spaciousness necessary for deeper listening.

Throughout the afternoon we explore practices of dream incubation, visionary meditation and symbolic perception, establishing the foundations that will accompany us throughout the retreat.

The evening concludes with a shared meal, heart connections and quiet preparation for the pilgrimage ahead.

DAY TWO • The Mountain Oracle & The Delphic Sanctuary

Corycian Cave Pilgrimage • Thriae Honeybee Sibyl Ritual • Temple of Apollo

Our central pilgrimage day begins with an ascent into the wild landscape of Mount Parnassus, journeying towards the ancient Corycian Cave for the dawn light,  gathering for an oracular ritual honouring the Thriae—the honeybee Sibyls of ancient Greek mythology.

Through meditation, sound, pranayama, embodied practice, ritual and contemplative immersion, we enter into relationship with this powerful landscape and the symbolic language of the Oracle.

The cave becomes a place of listening, vision and creative awakening.

From the mountain heights of Parnassus, we continue our journey to the Delphic Sanctuary and the Temple of Apollo.

Here we immerse ourselves in the ancient centre of prophecy, poetry and artistic inspiration, walking the sacred pathways and allowing the presence of Delphi to deepen our connection with the visions received.

This day forms the bridge between the Earth mysteries of the cave and the luminous oracle of Delphi.

It is an invitation to remember imagination as a living intelligence—and to transform that encounter into an original work of art that becomes a lasting talisman of your journey.

DAY THREE • Giving Vision Form • A living practice of Oracular Art

Having received impressions through dream, pilgrimage and contemplative practice, we now begin translating those experiences into visual form.

Throughout the day Melissa offers individual guidance, demonstrations and personal mentoring while encouraging each participant to trust their own emerging symbolic language.

This is not about learning to copy a particular style.

Nor is it about producing a technically perfect painting.

Instead, the studio becomes a place of deep listening, where colour, gesture, image and symbol gradually reveal themselves through attentive presence.

Some participants work primarily through drawing.

Others through painting.

Some combine written reflection with image making.

Each creative process is honoured according to its own rhythm.

The emphasis throughout is on authenticity rather than performance.

By the close of the day, your artwork will already be carrying the imprint of your unique encounter with Delphi.

Creative Practice Includes:

• Individual Mentoring

• Guided Painting Sessions

• Symbolic Drawing

• Creative Reflection

• Group Dialogue

• Studio Practice

DAY FOUR • Integration & Consecration• Carrying the Vision Home

Our final day is dedicated to completing your artwork and integrating the journey you have undertaken together.

As the creative process comes to completion, we take time to reflect upon the deeper themes that have emerged through dream, pilgrimage and artistic practice.

The completed artworks are shared within the circle, each becoming a witness to an individual encounter with the mystery.

Rather than marking an ending, this closing ceremony honours the beginning of an ongoing relationship with your own creative and symbolic life.

You leave carrying more than memories.

You return home with an original artwork infused with the experiences of your pilgrimage—a tangible companion capable of continuing the dialogue long after the retreat has ended.

Our journey concludes with a closing ceremony, shared meal and heartfelt farewells.

Closing Practices Include:

• Completion of Artwork

• Individual Reflection

• Group Sharing

• Closing Ritual

• Integration Practices

• Celebration Lunch

MEET THE FACILITATOR

Melissa Artemis Shemanna

Artist • Curator • Mystagogue •

Founder of The Honeybee Temple Arts Pollinator

For more than three decades, Melissa Artemis Shemanna has dedicated her life to the intersection of visionary art, contemplative practice, ritual, mythology and the living intelligence of the Earth.

An internationally exhibiting Australian artist, curator and teacher, Melissa is the founder and Creative Director of The Honeybee Temple Arts Pollinator, an artist-led initiative established in 2006 that cultivates visionary, mythological and consciousness-based art through exhibitions, pilgrimages, workshops and cultural collaborations across Australia, USA, Bali, Europe and the United Kingdom.

Her paintings have been exhibited internationally and her curatorial practice has brought together hundreds of visionary artists through large-scale exhibitions at festivals, conferences and cultural events.

Alongside her artistic practice, Melissa has spent many years designing and producing immersive educational experiences, ceremonial gatherings, international exhibitions and transformational retreats, cultivating environments where creativity, scholarship, ritual and community meet.

Her work is informed by over thirty years of dedicated study and practice within yogic, tantric, contemplative and mythopoetic traditions.

Since childhood she has maintained a lifelong commitment to meditation, breathwork, visionary practice and the cultivation of consciousness, weaving these disciplines into a unique body of work that she describes as Oneiric Activism—the conscious use of dream, imagination, ritual and symbolic art as technologies for cultural and ecological renewal.

Melissa's teaching is grounded not only in lived spiritual practice, but also in decades of artistic discipline.

She mentors participants in traditional drawing and painting while guiding them through practices of deep listening, symbolic perception, contemplative inquiry and creative embodiment.

Her approach honours both technical excellence and intuitive revelation, inviting each participant to discover an authentic visual language emerging from direct experience.

Mythoneiric represents the convergence of Melissa's life's work—bringing together visionary art, pilgrimage, Honeybee philosophy, Delphic studies, ritual technologies and contemplative practice into a living magical working dedicated to the flourishing of imagination, culture and the Earth.

Rather than offering answers, Melissa creates the conditions through which participants may encounter their own deepest sources of vision, creativity and meaning.

MythOneiric is an invitation to step beyond ordinary perception and enter into a living relationship with creativity, landscape and mystery.

A pilgrimage.

A practice.

A remembering.

Join us in Delphi.
