Pollinate
The Honeybee Temple Arts Foundation
Launch & Fundraiser
at Mycelium Studios, Melbourne 2018
Melissa Artemis Shemanna served as the Pollinate Gallery Curator and event co-manager for the inaugural launch of The Honeybee Temple Arts Foundation in October 2018. The event was held at Mycelium Studios in Brunswick, Melbourne and featured a diverse array of visionary artists in painting, sculpture, and digital media, as well as projection artists, soundscape technicians, performers, and a merchandise gallery stall. The event was held in collaboration with Melbourne's Rainforest Action Group to raise funds for legal actions needed to preserve cloud forests in Columbia. Half of the proceeds were donated to the Rainforest Action Group, while the other half was allocated to The Honeybee Temple Arts Foundation to initiate community arts projects. The event was headlined by a group of renowned artists including Rebekah Hayden, Bryan Itch, Steph Ives, Hera Wing, Katia Honour, Heid Jade Fox, Tobius Raphael Millar, Dianna Tarr, and many more. The evening was highly successful, and photographs captured the vibrant atmosphere of the celebration.
